I'm doing it again, aren't I? I'll never be able to talk to people properly. I'll always to mess it up and say and do the wrong thing every time. I try my best. I really do. :(
But anyway, enough vague self pity. I just beat Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations, and now seems like a good time to ramble about it. :D
( Spoilers for the whole game. Surprised? )
Fiction: My antidepressant. No I did not mean to say "fandom" there. Trust me.

I didn't feel up to doing anything not timewasting today, so I started playing the third Phoenix Wright game.
( Thoughts so far. Spoilers for Case 1 and a bit of Case 2 )
After I turned off the DS, I watched some YouTube videos of old games I used to play. Rayman, Rayman 2, Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure, Commander Keen 4: Goodbye Galaxy, Jazz Jackrabbit, stuff like that. Then I wondered whether the music would work again if I ran Commander Keen or Cosmo on DOSbox. It does. So... I'm never calling you back. Doo hoo. In case you don't understand cryptic Homestar Runner reference speak, which seems likely, I'm going to go play those now. Bye.

I'm actually playing Phoenix Wright right now, but I had to say something: Did Ms Oldbag just call Phoenix a "spikey-haired poof"?
That is all.
That is all.

I would've been online tonight, except my birthday present that my sister bought me off eBay finally arrived. Movies in Fifteen Minutes. :D
So that took priority over internetting, and the Phoenix Wright beating I was also going to do tonight. Saving Maya can wait for another night. That girl gets arrested and kidnapped a lot.

I spent the morning in horrendous pain due to cramps, and the afternoon playing Phoenix Wright due to inexplicable depression. I need to reasess my priorities, or I'll never be happy.
On a less angsty note, apparently velociraptors had feathers. I'd forgotten how much I liked paleontology, and I don't think I read up too much on it when I was little. Most of what I know seems to have come from a book I have, a video I used to have, and that Animorphs book where a nuke sends them back to the late Cretaceous Period. And maybe a bit of Walking With Dinosaurs.
Wow. I wasn't expecting that guess I made about the title of the video to be correct. I'm going to go watch that music video it had now.

Got this meme from
fandom_memes, which I just noticed is being posted in again. I thought I was watching it but apparently not.
Choose five series (no peeking before you choose them), list them, and then answer the questions behind the cut.
1. Homestar Runner
2. Order of the Stick
3. Psychonauts
4. Doctor Who
5. Phoenix Wright
( The questions )

I'd seen this episode of the Melanchony of Haruhi Suzumiya before, but because I hadn't played any Phoenix Wright games, I didn't pick up on the incredibly obvious homage here. It starts at around 1:30. The music is Phoenix Wright-ish, as is every gesture Haruhi makes. But my favourite part was the Edgeworth bow that Itzuki does when he says "Quite the blunder". It's awesome.

I'm too shaky to edit any writing, so I'll post the drabbles I spoke of tomorrow. Hopefully. Now, let the tl;dr-ness commence. I added some comments in italicised square brackets.

There's more, but I'll leave off writing it up until tomorrow. I should probably sleep tonight or something.

Here are a couple of dreams I had. Because my dreams are so totally fascinating.
In the first one, I was playing some sort of... block game, maybe? It was a recent, cutting edge game with great graphics and an involved storyline, but most of the gameplay consisted of pushing blocks. At one point, I found a minigame that could better be described as "the entire first Phoenix Wright game". As I'd never played Phoenix Wright, my subconscious made up a lot of random stuff. Um. Edgeworth was there. I only have the vaguest idea of who Edgeworth is, but he was there.
There was a part in the minigame where I had to figure out who was telling the truth. They were all talking about general knowledge stuff, but because it was a dream, I had no idea what they were talking about. One person, who was female and whose name started with m (not you,
mwagen, if you're reading this) started talking about the backstory to Star Control 2, pretty accurately if I remember correctly. I was like "Well, that's true, but is it the right answer? I don't think the game requires knowledge of a completely different game in order to beat it." But before I could make a choice, I woke up.
In the other dream, I was playing the Falling Sand Game, despite the fact I'd decided a few months ago to stop playing it because it was so addictive. I have no idea why I'd be dreaming about it now. I guess it's not as bad as the time I had three dreams practically in a row about Opposites Attract (The Homestar/Strong Bad roleplay on deviantART, not anything else by that name).
Anyway, in my dream the graphics for the version of the Falling Sand Game I was using were very good. I filled up the whole stage, which really did look like a stage, with sand, then dropped some ants on it. You can't get ants in any version of the Falling Sand Game, but in my dream they made an anthill and some tunnels in the sand. I dropped some water down the hole and washed everything away, then tried dropping the ants on some salt. They died.
Now I want to play a version of the Falling Sand Game with ants.
(I'm not that thankful, I just like the image I used to represent it)
