My mum's in the Canberra Recorder and Early Music Society, and they have this annual recorder playing overnight weekend thing. Which is tomorrow. Since I've been playing the recorder for a long time, and only stopped when I got bored a couple of years ago, she asked me if I wanted to come along a while ago, and I said yes.
I put down that I could play all four of the most popular recorder sizes, because I can, but I got assigned to a descant. Which is the little squeaky one that kids learn to play on. It was also the first recorder I learned to play, but I've been playing mostly treble and bass since I was twelve. I'm really out of practice at reading music with the descant in mind. But at least I won't have to play really boring music like I would've if I'd been assigned to my favourite recorder, the bass. My mum got assigned to the contrabass recorder, which... looks interesting, but gets the most boring music ever. So I was lucky in that respect.
But I'm still really out of practice with reading with a descant. I played some music with my mum and I kept making stupid mistakes because I was reading in treble and bass. But I was also put into the intermediate group instead of the advanced intermediate, so hopefully that will compensate.
But I'm still stressed.

I really want to play some music right now, but I'd feel uncomfortable if someone else could hear it, probably because I have emotional problems or something. (looks online for virtual piano type applet things)
I know! I'll download that Mario Paint Composer thing I heard about! Thanks, Internet!
(I'm a little jumpy right now. Can you tell?)

Now that my MP3 player's been filled up so that I had to delete some of my older stuff to get my new stuff on it, I'll do the life soundtrack meme again.
Instructions: Put your music player of choice on shuffle. For each part of the soundtrack, put the first song that comes up. The result is the soundtrack of your life.
( This one I'll cut. My taste in music is generally considered bad, anyway. )
What a strange movie.

So after my appointment wherein I cried for no reason, I went looking in JB Hi-Fi, a god among electronics stores. I was looking for Hellogoodbye's album Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!, for these reasons: a)I downloaded Touchdown Turnaround a while ago and really like it, b)The album is called Vampires! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!.
I never found any evidence that Hellogoodbye had ever released anything in Australia ever, and this was going to be my last time looking, but I had a feeling I'd have more luck today. Which I ignored because I'm always having those feelings. But this time they had it, and even had one of those signs saying the name of the artist. So I guess even my inexplicable optimism is that broken clock that's right twice a day.
And it was worth it, because this album is really good. What was the point of this story? I don't know, I'm kind of manic right now.

You know what's really a good band to get rid of the bad feelings when you find yourself dwelling on something that happened over two years ago yet again? Green Day. And it's weird, because that was a band I was listening to a lot when it happened. Connection?

I am honour bound to mention it in my journal each and every time I submit a drawing to deviantART. Strong Bad and The Cheat hug. I thought it was cute.
Speaking of which, I need some more friendship songs. I have, like, three. Maybe I should listen to more things that aren't punk rock and alternative?

To my MP3 player: Stop playing music that's so appropriate to what I'm reading. It's making me cry. I lways cry when I listen to music that's perfectly appropriate to something, but you know. There's a drought on.

I was doing a pretty good job of not wanting Super Smash Brothers Brawl too much, I think. And then the music was ripped and leaked.
Now I just want it to come out. I hope it isn't released here too long after the American release date. The Australian release date hasn't even been announced yet.
I think I'll go back to reading the Stone Key.

First off, this
fandomsecrets song I'm listening to is quite funny. I don't really care for the style it's sung in, but I like the lyrics.
I hate the fandom
I hate the people
I hate the slash
And the het
And the gen
Hee hee.
( And I had this awesome dream last night. )
I have the new Obernewtyn book. Finally! It came out! Tonight, at long last, the plot continues! This! Is! Post-apocolyptic Europe!
...Well, if you had to wait five and a half years for the next book to come out, you'd be excited too. And I got off pretty lightly. The last book in the series came out in 1999, and I didn't get into it until 2002.

I'm too shaky to edit any writing, so I'll post the drabbles I spoke of tomorrow. Hopefully. Now, let the tl;dr-ness commence. I added some comments in italicised square brackets.

So... Feedbac, the school music talent show thing, was on tonight. I played a boring baroque* piece on the recorder. I played it very well. I got some cheers. I like getting cheers.
*like Mozart and stuff. What is incorrectly referred to as "Classical" a whole lot.
Some guys did a medley of tunes from The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time on electric guitars, which was pretty cool. And the people who did My Immortal by Evanescence, that was pretty cool as well. I like that song, even if it is a bit overrated.
But a lot of the songs went on and on and on and on for many tens of minutes. And that is why it went for three and a half hours even though there were only 22 acts. Whatever.
